Thoughts from the tub (my nightly mineral bath), a Thoughts from the tub (my nightly mineral bath), as I’ve picked this account back up (after 1+ years off), and headed in a slightly different direction, with less pressure, less perfection, and more creating. Asking the Lord to help guide me. I pray this reaches someone who needed these thoughts tonight 🤎. Even if you may not have known it was needed.
We recently celebrated our youngest daughter’s b We recently celebrated our youngest daughter’s birthday 🤎. She adores stuffed animals and Maileg mice. We mixed the two and came up with something precious. It was a fun outlet for me to do something creative in this more difficult season of life. Her sweet party was filled with gingham, dusty muted colors, cotton & linen accents throughout (pieces we can keep and use over and over again + a little less plastic), and cute stuffed animal accents (from her collection + a few new as gifts). The cake and macarons were artificial dye and GF free from a sweet local bakery (if local I can send you the info).

Comment PARTY if you want the links for items throughout her party.

We kept food simple by grabbing a fresh pre-made guac from Whole Foods (my brother used to be a chef and kept saying how good it was), siete chips, fruit, and a delicious fruit dip (we just did equal parts organic cream cheese & organic marshmallow cream blended up). Drinks were Lakewood organic grape juice + sparkling water mixed, and water with mint leaves + cucumber.

The girls (sisters & cousin) made cute travel Maileg bunny / mice houses.
It’s been almost a year since I’ve posted to m It’s been almost a year since I’ve posted to my feed, but felt led to get on and share this today + ask for prayers. ❤️ I pray you had a Merry Christmas.

If you are walking through a difficult and grief filled year; I pray you are able to find the joy through the pain, and the blessings through the storm. That’s definitely been our journey this year.

My mom and I took my dad into the ER this morning. He’s admitted into the hospital now, and battling another round of aspiration pneumonia.

If you didn’t see my stories last month, my dad was diagnosed with Bulbar onset ALS in March (with a genetic mutation version). I shared more and saved it to an ‘Updates’ highlight if you want to read a bit more. We have leaned on our faith and the Lord’s mercies through it all. My parents moved in with us a few months ago for additional support, and a lot more has gone on this last several months. Counting our blessings through it all and continuing to pray for, and believe in, a physical healing miracle. Prayers deeply appreciated.

If you do not fully grasp the blessing of Jesus’ birth. An understanding of His birth, death on a cross for our sins, and resurrection are what we truly need this side of heaven (the book of John in the Bible can be a great place to start). If you have not asked Jesus to be your savior, I pray you know you have that available to you. No matter what you have done. You do not have to clean up your life first. Come as you are and let Jesus help you do the rest. Don’t believe He’s real? Ask Him to help you with that too ❤️, He can handle your doubts and confusion. Life with the Holy Spirit living in you is a beautiful blessing. The promise of eternity in heaven makes the grief and pain on earth more bearable.

This song has been on repeat for me this year. It’s my prayer: spirit lead me, not my ways Lord, but yours.
Here are some better ingredient and artificial dye Here are some better ingredient and artificial dye free Christmas treat swaps ❤️. I also added in a fun popcorn swaps slide + some ingredient examples.

Red 3 is currently under review by the FDA to be removed from food and drinks. Red 3 has been banned from cosmetics and topical drugs since 1990 after lab studies showed it could cause cancer in lab rats at higher doses. It’s also banned from food in Europe. Red 3 is no longer in too many food like items in the US, but it is still in some “fun” foods geared toward kids, like these Wilton sprinkles.

One part that frustrates me the most about artificial petroleum based dyes; these companies are aware of the potential negative effects the dyes in their products can cause. They remove, limit, or add warning labels to their packages in some other countries to meet regulations for artificial dyes, but do not do the same in the US. Not because they aren’t aware, but because they do not legally have to (yet).

I know many better ingredient swaps can often be pricier. One way to save on cost with several treat items can be homemade. I also know we should not stress over perfection ❤️.

Merry Christmas IG Friends ✝️
I was sharing in stories that our family is curren I was sharing in stories that our family is currently doing a “Deep Clean & Declutter December”. It reminded me how we often over complicate creating a less toxic home and healthier lifestyle.

Something as simple as deep cleaning your house can help to create a less toxic home. It does not always (or ever) need to look like spending money on fancy tools and gadgets. While those can be helpful for some who have the financial means, they are not a necessity to create a healthier home.

When it comes to lifestyle: the free, daily habits, are more important than all the fancy wellness tools combined. Get outside, work on light hygiene, go for walks if able, get in community, hydrate well, eat better, laugh, process emotions, practice proper breathing, lift weights if able, increase protein and good fat intake if needed, sleep 7-9 hours per night, spend time in prayer and reading the Bible.

You can buy all the fancy tools in the world, but they will not replace daily foundational wellness habits.

For more in depth free or equal cost lifestyle & household ideas, I have a list of 50+ ideas on my feed & saved in a ‘Free / Equal’ highlight.
